The start of a long over due catch up!
I'm such a hypocrite, because I'm always so disappointed when a friend or family member stops updating their blog. Don't they know that I love hearing about what is going on in their lives, and seeing new pictures of their kids? Then look at me, who hasn't posted since January of 2011! Besides being a hypocrite though I also feel bad, because this blog is really how I've been keeping track of the activities in our life, a Journal and a scrapbook if you will. Gavin is at such a fun age, and it's my job to document all the fun things he does and says, even if it's just so I can black mail him later in life right? So my goal is at least 1 post a week for the next while to try to catch up, and then I can start fresh when the baby gets here. (Ha ha if anyone is reading this and you didn't know I was expecting because I didn't update my blog, well I guess you'll have learn all about her, when I get to that update :o)

We Love them Jazz!
For my Birthday Cody planned a few surprises for me, first he had family his Mom, Jessica, and my friend Jen meet us for dinner at Zupa's then, Cody upgraded our regular Jazz tickets to row 9 in the lower bowl. It was so fun! We were right by the Jazz bench.
Then one more surprise, the Jazz bear brought me flowers!
For our next game we brought Gavin with us, he had been asking to go to a Jazz game for weeks, unfortunately we also bought Gavin and Cody Deron Williams Jersey's... who knew he'd be traded a few weeks later?
The other night after I put Gavin down I heard him calling for me. So I go in his room and our conversation went like this:
Gavin:"hey Mom (he says very casual), I want to watch the Jazz game"
Me:"no buddy, it's time for bed"
Gavin starts crying and jumping up and down (no more casual talk) "no watch the Jazz game
Me: (I pick him up and say) "how about I hold you and sing you a song"
Gavin:(puts his hands on my face and leans in real close) "how about, watch Jazz game in the living room"
Me: (trying to keep a straight face) "how about no negotiating, your choices are I sing you a song, or you can lay in your bed right now"
I finally convinced him to go to bed, but I have admit we're definitely on the right track to raising a true blue Jazz fan!
When life dumps a bunch of snow in your driveway...
Build a sledding hill....
First Gavin helped Dad shovel the sidewalk and driveway...
I started working on the hill while those two worked. And Cody finished the hill while Gavin and I made lunch! After nap time it was time to play...
We had lots of fun!

Interview with a 2 Year old
We recently got a book from the library and Gavin kept calling it the "capowower" book. I couldn't figure out what he was saying until a few days later we went to read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and then I discovered he was trying to say Caterpillar, I decided I better catch it on video before he learns to pronounce it correctly!

From the mouth and mind of an almost 2 year old
I thought it would be fun to do a blog with some of the funny things that Gavin says now that he is talking like crazy! I also threw in some fun pics Cody and I took of him the last few weeks!
Every time we hand Gavin something he says "Thanks Bubba"
"What's it" (what is it?) "who's it" (who is it?) I'm sure WHY will be added soon. Tonight we had Chick-Fil-A (opening night for their new store in Logan) and Gavin points to his kid's meal and asks "What's it" I say a kid's meal and he replies "Awesome"
"Bye mom, c-ya later, i go in the tunnel" (as he crawls under the bench in the dressing room at Kohls)
Before it got so cold Gavin and I would run home with the jogging stroller from from my work once a week, each time we passed another person or biker Gavin would call out "Look out, watch out"
During halloween Gavin one night asked me to read the "Jacket book" I couldn't figure our what book he meant so he said "show you" and grabbed this halloween pumpkin book where they turn into Jack-o-lanterns at the end. By the time Halloween came Gavin called them "Jack-o-turn,turns"

I gave gavin a string cheese for a snack and he say's "Thanks, bubba, I want Turkey too"
"Hold you"
When Gavin wants something rather than whining we say how do you ask nicely and Gavin has to say "can I have ____, Please" so sometimes we get "Can I have, hold you? Please!"
Every night before i put him to bed he gives Cody hugs and kisses and then they have this yelling match as I walk down the hall, Gavin saying "Love you daddy" then Cody, I love you, then Gavin "I love you" It's so cute!
He calls baseball bat's "dat" I say buh, buh, bat and Gavin says "buh, buh, DAT"
After pooping in the potty Gavin looks in and says "look a snake" I laugh and say no that's poop, then he flushes it and calls out "Bye Snake Poop"
Every day its something new, it's so fun to see him learn and grow. I am always so impressed with how much this kid remembers. His teachers are sad that he'll be moving up to the older class soon, because they love how much he talks.

At the top of his lungs "Here I come Day care"
"watch this mama"

Counting "One, two, three, (mom says four) five, six, seven, eight, nineteen, ten, YAY"
Every time we pull in the driveway "My House, Gavin's House, Mommy's house" then "Wanna get out, I mean it!"
I said, Gavin, I love you and he replies "thanks, I love you" very matter of fact.
Time out is at the end of our hallway, whenever we send Gavin to time out he runs down the hall crying "Good boy, I a good boy"
Every night before i put him to bed he gives Cody hugs and kisses and then they have this yelling match as I walk down the hall, Gavin saying "Love you daddy" then Cody, I love you, then Gavin "I love you" It's so cute!

What does a shark say "Da-nuh, da-nuh" What does a quarter back say "Set Hike, go go go"
After pooping in the potty Gavin looks in and says "look a snake" I laugh and say no that's poop, then he flushes it and calls out "Bye Snake Poop"
"Look the moon, man in the moon, up in the sky, with airplanes"

Gavin found my mascara one day! |
Of course I had to take pictures until... |
He decided to taste it then I figured I should be a responsible Mom and take it away! |
One day Gavin got the bright idea to try to ride his scooter in the bath tub, somehow he got it, and himself in there without assistance. |
Livvy again! Gavin and and I went to visit the Stokers in Omaha! it was so much fun! |

Cody and I also put a paver patio in this summer, It was a lot of hard work, but it was fun to do a project together, and it definitely improved our yard! |
What would summer be without sprinklers? (sorry I forgot to rotate it before posting) |
Gavin Loves to "drive" the bronco! |
One day Gavin found Cody's helmet |
And then had to get his bike to ride |
Lots of time at the park |
Here's the 3 of us at a USU game, no idea why Gavin looks so sad, maybe we just fumbled the ball? |
And then Fall came, and with it Football (Go Aggies, Utes, and 49ers) Gavin gets a little confused at which team we're watching since we're big fans of all 3 teams, but he loves the game anyway :o) |
